NIS Buries One Of Its Killed Officers In Kebbi

One of the three Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) officers killed on Thursday night by terrorists in Bakin Ruwa border check point in Bagudo Local Government area of Kebbi State, Audu Hudu from Taraba State has been buried in Birnin Kebbi main cemetery on Saturday amidst sympathisers from the state NIS Command.
A senior officer of the Command who preferred anonimity, told our reporter that the second officer, Abbas Abubakar from Yobe would be buried tomorrow, Sunday with his brother, a Brigadier General in attendance.
While the remains of the third officer, Ande Jeremia from Benue State, would be taken to his home state by his family for onward funeral arrangements, according to Christian rites.
According to him, their corpses were conveyed from Bakin Ruwa to Federal Teaching Hospital Birnin Kebbi where an autopsy showed that they were burnt beyond recognition.
An eye witness who craved anonimity confirmed to our reporter Sunday on Saturday that the three NIS officers were shot by the bandits before pouring petrol on their shelter-belt and sets all of them including their vehicle ablaze.
“The bandits, two on each motorbike arrived at the NIS check point on Thursday around 11.43pm and opened fire on the officers and later burnt them,” the eye witness said.
