Kebbi Holds Yauri Rigata 2026 Cultural Festival Feb 4

Kebbi State Government has concluded arrangement to commence the Yauri Rigata Cultural and Heritage Festival for this year starting from Thursday 4 to 7 February.
National Chairman of the organising committee who is also the Secretary to the State Government, Yakubu Bala Tafida announced on Saturday at a news conference held in Birnin Kebbi, saying that the free event will commence on February 4 and followed by the main activities on the 5th of February.
Activities that will feature in the event include agricultural show, water plays, cultural and heritage show and the Rigata grand finale.
According to chairman of the committee, the festival which started 200 years ago was the event initially organised by the Gungu people of Yauri in order to showcase their cultural and heritage activities to the eyes of the world.
“This event is also revised by the present Emir of Yauri, Dr. Zayyanu Abdullahi, CON and sponsored by the present administration of Governor Nasir Idris (Kauran Gwandu),” Tafida said.
He commended the state government for sustaining the festival and other festivals in the state since inception of the Kaura-led administration.
He called on people in the state to give support and cooperation towards the success of the upcoming Rigata event.
