Kebbi Governor Approves N60m For Accreditation of CHST Jega

Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu has approved the sum of N60 million for the accreditation of eight (8) academic programmes of the state’s College of Health Sciences and Technology, Jega by the National Board For Technical Education (NBTE).

The approval, according to the management of the College, is a testament of Governor Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu’s commitment to revitalising tertiary education in the state.

While briefing newsmen on Friday on the development, Provost of the College, Hussaini Aliyu revealed that the education-friendly governor has approved the renovation of the students’ hostels, in line with the accreditation process, aimed at enhancing learning and research.

“The management of the College, in collaboration with the Governing Council and the Ministry for Higher Education, remain fully aligned with the Kaura-led administration’s educational transformation and rejuvenation vision, focus on quality, accessible and institutional excellence,” Aliyu said.

According to the Provost, the eight academic programmes to be accredited by the NBTE includes; Community Health, Environmental Health, Pharmacy, Public Health, Medical Laboratory, Health Information Management, Health Education And Promotion and Nutrition and Balance Diet.

The 250 students who are affected by the October 17, 2024 riot have also been recalled by the College Management to enable them continue with their studies, in order to graduate with National Diploma (ND).
