Kebbi Gov Presents N642.9bn 2026 Budget To Assembly

Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris (Kauran Gwandu), has presented a budget estimate of N642,930,818,157.99 to the State Assembly for 2026 fiscal year.
While presenting the estimate, Governor Idris said the sum of over N479.5 billion is for current expenditure and another over N163,573 billion for recurrent expenditure.
According to him, this year’s budget will focus on agricultural sector where government will boost farming activities to ensure food security in the state and the country in general.
Similarly, Idris added that the budget will emphasize on empowerment programme where youths and women would be accorded skills acquisition for self reliance.
This year’s budget title – “Budget of Growth and Transformational and Physical Development, will harmonise state with transformational projects that reach out to the grassroots,” Idris said.
He called on people in the state to continue supporting his administration as it envelopes many intended projects that will put smiles on the faces of the common man.
Receiving the budget, Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Hon. Mohammed Usman Zuru, thanked the governor for presenting the 2026 budget in time, assuring that the House will scrutinise the estimate within one week and return it for assent.
Hon. Zuru made it clear that the Legislators are in a cordial relationship with the executive arm as a development which never happened in the past.
