The Kebbi State Commission For Disabilities is set to empower people with disabilities financially and materially with a view to making them self-reliant across the state.
This was disclosed by the Commissioner of Special Duties, Alhaji Zayyanu Aleiro during a press briefing on Tuesday in Birnin Kebbi.
Aleiro said, the empowerment programme is in commemoration with the World Disabilities Day, observed on every December 3.
According to him, the office of the First Lady, Mrs Remi Tinubu under its Renewed Hope Agenda, has donated 250 packages in addition to the 1000 bags of rice and 100 motorcycles from the state government to the programme.
“All the packages would be shared to 1000 beneficiaries across the 21 Local Government areas of Kebbi State by the Commission during the programme,” Aleiro said.
This programme will empower people with disabilities in line with the First Lady’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the Kaura-led administration in uplifting the livelihood of people particularly disabled persons in the society.
The Commissioner called on people in the state to continue supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Nasir Idris for good governance.
