OPEC Sec-Gen Condoles with Nigerians, Buhari Family

By Our Reporter

OPEC Secretary General HE Haitham Al Ghais, on behalf of the OPEC family, extended his deepest condolences on the tragic passing of the former President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, in a visit to the Nigerian Embassy in Vienna, Austria.

In signing the condolence register at the Embassy, the Secretary General sent his sympathies to President Buhari’s family, HE President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as well as the Government and People of Nigeria.

HE Al Ghais praised the late President for his leadership role during the formation and realization of the OPEC and non-OPEC Declaration of Cooperation and his valuable contributions to OPEC over many decades of service.

The late President Buhari was Nigeria’s Head of Delegation to OPEC in 1976 as a Federal Commissioner of the Ministry of Petroleum Resources. He will be dearly missed by the OPEC Family.
