Governor’s Cup: Mayor Of Calabar Inaugurates Committee

The Mayor of Calabar, Rt. Hon. Apostle James Anam, Chairman of Calabar Municipal Council, has officially inaugurated an organizing committee for Calabar Municipal Council’s participation in the highly anticipated 2025 Governor’s Cup football competition.

During the inauguration which was held at the TRC Hall, the Mayor appointed Pst. Rt. Hon. Okon Nyong, Vice Chairman of the Council, to head the organizing committee, while other members of the committee include Mr. Offiong Ani – Secretary; Mr. Charles Otudor; Mr. Robert Etim and Mr. Okoho Eyo as members.

Others are Mr. Eke Ekanem; Mr. Beto Oboh; Mr. Oqua Etim; Mr. Emmanuel Etim and Barr. Etim Anam. He tasked them with the responsibility of ensuring the team’s success.

In his acceptance address, Pst. Rt. Hon. Okon Nyong expressed gratitude to the Mayor for the trust reposed in them. He assured that the committee would work assiduously to ensure Calabar Municipal Council makes a strong showing in the competition, bringing glory and pride to the municipality.

After the inauguration, stakeholders became abuzz with excitement and optimism about the team’s prospects in the Governor’s Cup Competition. The committee is poised to make a lasting impact, while the local government is eagerly awaiting the team’s performance.
