Gov Uzodinma Gifts Imo-Born Falcons, Coach ₦70m

- The gesture comes after the Super Falcons clinched a thrilling 3-2 victory over Morocco in the WAFCON 2024 final on Sunday.
- The players rewarded include Chiamaka Nnadozie, Jennifer Echegini, Osinachi Ohale, Oluchi Oluehi, Chinwendu Ihezuo, and Michelle Alozie — all of whom hail from Imo State.
Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, has honoured six Super Falcons players with ₦10 million each, totaling ₦60 million, for their outstanding performance at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
In addition, assistant coach Ann Chiejine received a ₦10 million reward, bringing the total to ₦70 million.
The players rewarded include Chiamaka Nnadozie, Jennifer Echegini, Osinachi Ohale, Oluchi Oluehi, Chinwendu Ihezuo, and Michelle Alozie — all of whom hail from Imo State.
The cash rewards were presented during a reception at the Government House in Owerri.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had earlier celebrated the team’s historic win by awarding each player $100,000, a three-bedroom home, and the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON).
