Gov Buni Supports APC Leaders With N100,000 Each For Sallah

The Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, has further demonstrated his commitment to internal democracy, grassroots development, and party unity by approving financial support for All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders across the state.

Speaking at the APC secretariat in Damaturu, the state party chairman, Alhaji Muhammad Gadaka, disclosed that Governor Buni has consistently prioritized wards based on their political relevance and strengthened them as key pillars of the ruling party.

Gadaka emphasized that Governor Buni does not interfere in the selection of party or government officials. Instead, he allows communities, through their stakeholders, to freely choose their representatives, reflecting his unwavering respect for democratic principles.

According to the chairman, the governor grants full autonomy to each Local Government area to conduct its political processes. He added that once a community accepts a leader, it signifies the governor’s acceptance as well.

The event, held at the party’s zonal secretariat in Zone A, is part of broader statewide engagements aimed at showcasing the governor’s achievements and strengthening ties with party leaders from the ward to the state level.

As part of his Sallah gestures, Governor Buni approved the disbursement of N100,000 to each party leader across wards, Local Government areas, and the state. Party officials explained that the support is intended to ease financial pressures associated with personal responsibilities and party activities during the festive season.

Party leaders expressed appreciation for the gesture, describing it as timely and a clear demonstration of the governor’s commitment to grassroots leadership. They also highlighted the cordial relationship between the governor and party stakeholders, noting that he remains accessible and responsive to complaints and party-related issues.

Gadaka urged party leaders to uphold the trust placed in them and take their responsibilities seriously to achieve collective political success.

Addressing the issue of future political contests, Gadaka stressed that leadership ultimately comes from Allah. He urged aspirants to remain prayerful and committed to the common good. He recalled that similar prayers during the tenure of former Governor Ibrahim Geidam-led administration to the emergence of Governor Buni.

The chairman further noted that finding a worthy successor of Governor Buni’s caliber is rare, expressing confidence that the governor’s prayers and leadership would produce a capable successor ahead of the 2027 elections.

The party chairman called on residents of Yobe State to continue supporting the governor and to work collectively towards a smooth leadership transition in the future. They cautioned members against being misled by negative influences, urging unity, discipline, and loyalty to party ideals.

According to them, Governor Buni has demonstrated rare confidence in party leaders by entrusting them with the responsibility of sustaining his legacy. They urged them to safeguard that trust as preparations begin for the next phase of leadership in the state.
