Governor Mai Mala Buni, of Yobe State has called on politicians, public office holders and other public-spirited individuals in the state to emulate the community development model of philanthropist Alhaji Balarabe Abdullahi DJ.
Buni made the call on Sunday during the commissioning of a Ruga settlement project built by Alhaji Balarabe DJ, located about seven kilometres from Nguru town.
The Governor commended Alhaji Balarabe for his exemplary service, adding that, “I must commend and appreciate him on behalf of the good people of this community, Nguru Local Government, Yobe State, and indeed Nigeria at large,” Buni said.
“We have seen the transformative multiplier effect of his initiative—particularly the school, the clinic, and the housing provided for the Ruga settlement. This is highly commendable obviously.”
Governor Buni also commissioned a Sesame seed processing factory in Machina, built by his administration.
“I am highly delighted to be here. The structure is impressive, and what we are witnessing represents a true battle for the prudent utilization of our resources”.
According to him, the investment in establishing this processing factory is justified by its clear purpose, and we are thoroughly impressed.

“The governor urge the community to make optimal use of this facility for the benefit of their community and the state at large.”
He described the factory as one of several development “forts” established across Yobe State now being commissioned.”
The Governor then issued a direct appeal: “I therefore call on other public-spirited individuals to emulate his noble example and complement the efforts of the government.”
The Governor emphasized the need for private sector partnership to bolster the state’s development agenda.
