FRSC Zaria Unit Command Hands Over ₦3m Recovered From Accident Scene To Owners

In a remarkable display of integrity and professionalism, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Zaria Unit Command has recovered the sum of ₦3,727,500 in cash, along with other valuables worth approximately ₦500,000, from the scene of a tragic auto crash and promptly returned e everything to the accident victims on Monday, 16th March, 2026.

In a Press statement by CRC Nasiru A Falgore Ag. Unit Commander, RS1.13 Zaria Unit Command said, the incident occurred on Sunday, March 15, 2026, along the Zaria-Funtua Highway near Zaria Academy, Shika.

A Toyota Corolla and a Peugeot 806 collided, with nine passengers involved.

Tragically, one person died on the spot, while the remaining eight sustained varying degrees of injuries.

FRSC rescue operatives were swiftly mobilized upon receiving report of the accident and provided immediate first aid before rushing the injured victims to ABU Teaching Hospital, Shika, for further proper medical attention.

During the post-crash management and clearance operation, the diligent FRSC team discovered and secured the substantial cash and other valuable items scattered at the scene.

On Monday, March 16, 2026, the Unit Commander, Chief Route Commander (CRC) Nasiru A. Falgore, personally handed over the recovered ₦3,727,500 to the owner-victims in the presence of their family members and relatives.

The handover underscored the Corps’ unwavering commitment to honesty, trustworthiness, and the protection of lives and property on Nigerian roads.

Commending his operatives for their dedication and ethical conduct, CRC Falgore highlighted that such integrity is a hallmark of the FRSC.

He urged the motoring public to support the Corps by obeying traffic rules and regulations to reduce road crashes and promote safety.

The victims, visibly relieved and appreciative, expressed profound gratitude to the FRSC for not only saving their lives but also safeguarding their hard-earned money and belongings.

They pledged to become advocates for road safety in their respective communities, vowing to promote responsible driving and adherence to traffic laws.
