Families Of 63 Fallen Policemen In A/Ibom Paid Life Benefits

Families of 63 deceased police officers in Akwa Ibom State have received a total of N22,904,914.80 under the Group Life Assurance and IGP Family Welfare Schemes.
The state Commissioner of Police, CP Baba Mohammad who presented cheques to beneficiaries at the Command’s Headquarters, Ikot Akpanabia, Uyo on Thursday, condoled with the beneficiaries who lost their loved ones during the course of their service to the nation.

He pledged the commitment of the Police Force under IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, to improve the welfare of Police, both retired and serving.
He said the Force will continue to ensure adequate support for the families of the fallen heroes who paid the ultimate price and will improve the living conditions of the families they left behind.
The CP encouraged the beneficiaries to make good use of the funds by channeling them into legitimate businesses for the better upkeep of their households.

The beneficiaries, while expressing their heartfelt gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police for the kind gesture, said the support will go a long way to lessen their burden, promising to make judicious use of the funds.
