Eid-el-Fitr: Bauchi Gov Dishes Out N20m, 7 Bulls To Journalists, Others

The Executive Governor of Bauçhi State Senator Bala Mohammed, has in his usual p approved the donation of over N20 million, including seven bulls, to members of the media community in the state as part of efforts to strengthen government–media relations.
The gesture was made public by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Governor, Comrade Muktar Gidado, during a brief presentation ceremony held at the Government House, Bauchi.
Gidado explained that the gesture was aimed at appreciating the contributions of journalists in promoting the activities and programmes of the present administration since its inception seven years ago.
Breakdown of the gesture shows that the Government House press crew received N2 million and one bull, while the Correspondents’ Chapel received N2 million and one bull. Social media practitioners got N1 million, while members of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) received cash alongside one bull.
Other beneficiaries include the Kare Muradu group, which received N1 million and a bull, and KABASIYYA, which also got N1 million and a bull.
In appreciation, the state chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Umar Saidu and the Correspondents’ Chapel chairman, Ahmed Mohammed described the governor’s gesture as timely and commendable, noting that it reflects the administration’s recognition of the media as key partners in governance.
They pledged continued support to the government through objective and responsible journalism, while reaffirming their commitment to promoting transparency, accountability and development-focused reporting in Bauchi State.
