Defection: Kaura Force Movement Launches ‘Pay Back Time’

Following recent widely spread rumours to the effect that Governor Bala Mohammed set to throw his cap as chairman of the PDP Governors Forum and decamp to a yet-to-be-announced political party, a newly formed group in the state, led by Hon. Mohammed Maiwada Bello and the present Commissioner for Natural Resources Development in the state, have officially launched the Kaura Force Movement.

The new group tagged “Pay Back Time” was aimed at standing up for Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed’s political interests in 2027 general elections.

This was made public by the leader of the group, Mohammed Maiwada, while informing journalists at the Press Conference Hall of the NUJ, Bauchi on Monday, where the “Pay Back Time” group was lunched.

He said “this movement is a response to a crucial moment in our political history, stressing the importance of safeguarding credible leadership and described Governor Bala Mohammed as a respected statesman, a skilled administrator, and a strong advocate for democratic accountability in Nigeria,” adding that “his administration is known for its performance, fairness, and tangible improvements for the people of Bauchi State”.

He X-rayed the governor’s achievements in governance to include strategic infrastructure projects, strengthened institutions, empowerment programmes for youth and women, and investments in education, healthcare and social development across the state.

“The Kaura Force Movement is fully committed to supporting Governor Bala Mohammed in his next political endeavors, including assisting with campaign logistics and purchasing his nomination form”, Maiwada assured.

The group stressed the importance of a robust opposition within the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the sake of democratic stability, saying that “Governor Mohammed has the right to decide on party affiliation.”

Maiwada informed that Governor Bala Mohammed’s leadership, courage, accountability and track record of achievements have earned him respect beyond Bauchi State.

Maiwada Bello said, the Kaura Force Movement is dedicated to combating misinformation, promoting peaceful political participation and upholding responsible civic behavior. It also stands firmly behind Governor Bala Mohammed and the progressive values he embodies.

Some of the members of the group who spoke with our correspondent after the press briefing, said that the group constitutes beneficiaries of Governor Bala Mohammed administration and it is now time to pay him back for making them what they are today in the society.
