Customs CG Bags Abuja All Stars Veteran International Award for Excellence in Leadership

The Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC) Adewale Adeniyi was honoured on Saturday with the prestigious Abuja All Stars Veteran International Award for Excellence in Leadership, recognizing his outstanding leadership and unwavering support for the development of sports in Nigeria.
In acknowledgment of his contributions, the CGC was described as having “written his name on the sands of time” for his remarkable efforts in promoting grassroots sports and supporting veteran football initiatives across the country.
The award was received on his behalf by Samuel Onikeku, the Sports Secretary of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), during the grand finale of the 2025 Abuja All Stars Veteran Football Tournament.
Presenting the award, the Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Malam Shehu Dikko, praised the CGC not only for his progressive leadership within the service but also for his vital role in advancing sports development nationwide.
The tournament, which spanned several months, featured 22 veteran football clubs drawn from across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The grand finale lived up to its billing, delivering a thrilling contest that saw debutant team New Karu All Stars stun the seasoned Karu Veterans to emerge as champions of the 2025 edition.
The event celebrated not just sporting excellence but also the spirit of camaraderie and community building among former footballers and sports enthusiasts.
