Cantona On Killed ‘Pele Of Palestine’, Obeid

Manchester United legend Eric Cantona posted this powerful message on Instagram after we lost our Palestinian brother and footballer Suleiman Obeid.
Suleiman was named ‘the Pele of Palestine’ by many and dominated football across the league in Gaza. He got 21 caps for Palestine during his career too.
But football aside, this is much more deeper. Suleiman was a father and husband. He had five children, two sons and three daughters. He was waiting for humanitarian aid for himself and his family and was killed.
The silence in the media is sickening, but we have a duty to continue speaking up and doing what we can. No matter what it takes or how long we need to stand up for, we cannot stay silent.
A few days ago it was Suleiman, yesterday it was someone else, today and tomorrow it’ll be another group of people. Whether your platform is small or big, keep going.
Keep standing up for justice.
May Allah grant our brothers and sisters in Palestine full victory and protect them from the evil that is happening to them. They will not rest and we will not rest until Palestine is free.
