BREAKING: NAHCON Chairman, Sheikh Pakistan Resigns

The Executive Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Sheikh Abdullahi Saleh Usman Pakistan, has resigned his appointment. The reason for the resignation is unknown, it is coming amid allegation of misappropriation.

Pakistan, who was appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2024, replacing Malam Jalal Ahmad Arabi, has been having rounds of battles the actors of suspicious practices at NAHCON since his assumption of office.

The sheikh is a renowned islamic scholar with qualifications from the University of Madinah and Peshawar University, Pakistan. 

He has earlier served as Chairman of Kano State Pilgrims Board successfully, overseeing the operations of the largest quota of state pilgrims in the country.

Some stakeholders familiar with the affairs of NAHCON, have revealed that the development may not be unconnected with Pakistan’s blockade of financial leakages which didn’t go down well with some insiders.
