ARGUNGU FISHING: Governor Idris Crowns New Sarkin Noma Of Kebbi

Kebbi State Commissioner of Agriculture, Alhaji Shehu Muazu has, on Thursday, 12th February, 2026, emerged as the new Sarkin Noma of Kebbi, crowned at the Argungu Fishing Fair in Argungu by Governor Nasir Idris.

He replaced Abdullahi Maigandu Argungu, a former Programme Manager of Kebbi Agricultural And Rural Development Authority during the administration of Governor Muhammed Adamu Aliero.

Speaking at the occasion, Governor Idris informed the gathering at the Agric-Fair held in Argungu town, government found him fit to be crowned due to his vast experiences which contributed to the development of agricultural sector across the state.

The Governor added that he appointed him as Commissioner of Agriculture because of his credentials as a practicing seasoned farmer and his immense contributions generally to farming for food security in Kebbi.

The governor called on farmers in the state to give the new Sarkin Noma full support and the cooperation he deserves.

The new Sarkin Noma and the Commissioner of Agriculture, thanked the governor for the crowning which he described as a history that repeated itself in Zuru Emirate after it produced the first and the famous Sarkin Noma in the person of late Ali Namani Kotoko.

He noted that the throne will encourage him to do more on Agricultural sector in the state.
