Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has inaugurated reconciliation committees in the interest of irked members of the APC during the party’s last primary elections.
The governor inaugurated the committees at the WAWA Conference Hall, State House in Damaturu where he received all the committees members.
Speaking, Governor Buni, who was represented by his Deputy, Alhaji Idi Barde Gubana, said that this was established with the approval of Governor Buni.
“The governor approved the establishment with the determination that if anyone who was aggrieved during the primary elections of the party which was mostly done through mediation in the party’s channels, they will be influenced to calm down and be taken along as usual even before the primary elections of the party.”
According to him, this is why he has set up reconciliation committees covering each of the three senatorial constituencies in the state.
Therefore, all the chairmen and members of the committees have been called upon to maintain calm.
The committees have also been given two months to complete their work and submit their reports.
In his speech earlier the Speaker Yobe State House of Assembly, Hon. Buba Mashio, said they set up the committees not because there was any conflict but rather to ensure the smooth running of the party in the state.
According to him, to the best of his knowledge, the APC in Yobe State has no conflict at all because they are always in one shape.
Speaking on behalf of the committees, the former governor, Eng. Abubakar D. Ali, who is leading the reconciliation committee of Yobe south senatorial district , said that he first of all thanked Governor Buni for choosing them to mediate between the aggrieved parties members.
He therefore assured that they would carry out their duties honestly without any bias.
He also assured that they would reinstate any member of the party who was annoyed during the process.
