KACRAN Applauds Gov Buni’s Massive Employment, Youth, Women Empowerment, Others

Governor Mai Mala Buni

By Sani Gazas Chinade, Damaturu

The Kulen Allah Cattle Rearers Association of Nigeria, KACRAN, has commended His Excellency, Mai Mala Buni, the Executive Governor of Yobe State, for his transformative leadership in job creation, youth and women empowerment, and the unprecedented infrastructure revolution across the state.

In a statement signed by its National President, Hon. Khalil Mohammed Bello, he said there is no exaggeration in describing Yobe State as currently witnessing an unprecedented revolution in all spheres of human endeavour.

“KACRAN made the assertion because anyone who lived there and left before the creation of Yobe State in 1991 and returns today, would hardly believe his eyes. This is especially true in Damaturu, the state capital, and in most of the cities and towns across the state,” the statement read.

The association attributed the remarkable progress to the culture of continuity in governance and the sustained infrastructure revolution, particularly under the current administration of Governor Mai Mala Buni from 2019 to date.

While acknowledging that previous administrations for laying important foundations in various sectors, KACRAN noted that Governor Buni’s persistent efforts towards the completion of nearly all inherited projects have placed Yobe State on the path of rapid and sustainable development.

One clear example is the successful completion of the Yobe State International Cargo Airport to world-class standard which has positioned Yobe among the few states in the West African sub-region with a modern cargo airport capable of boosting trade, agriculture, and economic growth.

Furthermore, KACRAN observed that there is hardly any Local Government Area or major town in Yobe State today without either a completed or ongoing people-oriented project. The level of development now rivals that of oil-producing states that receive additional monthly allocations.

“The wonder becomes even more evident in Damaturu, where multi-billion naira projects have been completed or are nearing completion, with an ultra-modern flyover at the city center which has ended the painful traffic hold-ups that often delayed emergency medical cases and travellers to Maiduguri and other parts of the country,” KACRAN stated.

The Association also highlighted ongoing aggressive development across Damaturu, including a multi-billion naira stadium, extensive road and drainage networks, modern roundabouts, new government offices, and hospitals of international standard.

KACRAN further applauded Governor Buni’s compassion and pro-people policies, including the procurement of luxury buses and taxis for affordable intra-city transport services for civil servants and residents, which are expected to commence operations soon.

KACRAN expressed deep appreciation for the massive employment of thousands of youths since 2019, deployed to various sectors to contribute to state and national development.

The Association also commended the Governor’s Youth and Women Empowerment programs, through which billions of Naira have been invested in skills training and the provision of start-up capital to enable beneficiaries to run businesses of their choice.

KACRAN equally commended the Hon. Commissioner for Works, Engr. Umar Mohammed Wakil, “Duddaye”, for his sincerity, diligence, and total commitment to the supervision and quality delivery of projects under his Ministry. These include the International Cargo Airport, the new flyover, and the construction of roads, drainages, and culverts of international standard.

Commissioner’s unwavering loyalty, hard work, and insistence that all projects meet the highest standards and stand the test of time. His simplicity, accommodating nature, and respect for all citizens are also highly commendable,” the statement added.

Therefore KACRAN urged all Governors serving their second term to emulate Governor Buni by prioritizing the completion of ongoing projects to high-quality standards, and by investing massively in employment, youth and women empowerment as a strategic approach to reducing insecurity in their respective states.
