PFIPC: Why Can’t Reps, Senate Invite Him To Speak Publicly, What Names Are They Hiding? — Benjamin Hon

According to a report by News Central TV, on Thursday September 3, 2026, Political analyst Benjamin Hon has launched a scathing critique against the House of Representatives ad hoc committee investigating corrupt practices and fake government entities, demanding to know why the principal suspect in the ongoing probe has not been publicly interrogated.

Speaking in an interview; Hon questioned the credibility and transparency of the legislative inquiry following revelations that an ad hoc panel uncovered 12 fake federal agencies and 58 linked bank accounts associated with fraudulent schemes.

Hon expressed deep skepticism regarding how the House committee is conducting its investigation, pointing out that the key figure behind the fraudulent operations remains hidden from public view:

“First question I have as a response is this. Where exactly is the prime suspect in this investigation? The man who is allegedly responsible for the fake agency that is being investigated before the other 12 have been uncovered. Has he been interviewed? Why is the House of Representative Committee yet to publicly interrogate that man?”

He highlighted troubling allegations regarding behind-closed-door attempts to interact with the suspect while in custody:

“We heard reports recently that the family of the man Adeyemi Adeniyi as Director-General of the PFIPC was fraudulent, said that the House of Reps tried to speak with him in private while he was in custody. Meanwhile, Nigerians want to hear from him.”

According to Hon, the failure to parade or publicly question the suspect raises serious questions about potential accomplices occupying high office whom lawmakers may be seeking to protect:

“He says there are people who aided him in perpetrating these crimes. Now, why is it that the Nigerian House of Representatives, the Nigerian Senate is unable or seemingly unable to invite this man to come and speak publicly so that we can hear? What names do these guys not want us to hear? That’s the question.”

Concluding his reaction, Hon declared that any final report produced by the National Assembly without a public testimony from the prime suspect would lack credibility:

“And I think that’s my response. We need to hear from him. We need to hear from him. Anything other than that, any investigation that is conducted and presented to us without listening to the prime suspect is rubbish.”
