Osundecides: Voters Praise Orderly Process At Are-Ago Unit

Voters at Are-Ago, St. Charles School, Unit 7, Ward 8, Osun State, have expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the ongoing voting process, describing the polling unit as peaceful, organized, and cooperative.

The polling unit has 891 registered voters, with citizens commending Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials for attending to them promptly despite the large turnout.

Speaking at the polling unit, one voter said, “There is a lot of cooperation here. Everything is well organized, and the INEC officials are attending to us swiftly.”

Another voter commended the calm atmosphere, noting that people were waiting patiently for their turn without causing unnecessary trouble.

INEC officials at the polling unit also expressed satisfaction with the conduct of voters, noting that their cooperation had made the electoral process much smoother.

“We are impressed with the way the voters are cooperating with us. Everything is going smoothly,” an INEC official said.

Police officers deployed to the polling unit similarly described the situation as peaceful, stating that they had not experienced major difficulties managing the crowd.

“We are not having any difficulty communicating with the people,” one police officer said, emphasizing that voters had been respectful and orderly.

Party agents at the unit also noted that there was no tension among supporters of the various candidates.

According to one agent, voters were solely focused on exercising their franchise.

“There is no jealousy, hatred, or animosity here. Everyone is voting for their preferred candidate,” the agent said.

Officials from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) who visited the polling unit also praised the conduct of the voters.

“What a peaceful polling unit,” an official said, adding that citizens were obeying the rules and that security personnel were engaging respectfully with voters.

However, some voters expressed dissatisfaction with the provision of only one voting booth at the unit.

They explained that although the process remained peaceful, the limited facilities slowed down the exercise.

“We are not impressed with having only one voting booth, but since that is all we have, what can we do? We will just manage and take turns,” a voter said.

Another voter noted that while there was no major disruption, the single booth was time-consuming given the number of people waiting to vote.

Despite these concerns, voting at the polling unit continued peacefully, with voters, electoral officials, security personnel, and party agents maintaining a cooperative atmosphere.
