First-Term APC Governors Endorse Tinubu’s Second Term Bid

A group of 20 first-term APC governors in the country have unanimously endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second term bid ahead of the forthcoming 2027 general elections

They took the decision during their meeting held at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi, capital of Kebbi State yesterday.

Reading from the communique shortly after their meeting, Governor Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, of Kebbi State said the communique was issued in the spirit of patriotism, responsibility, accountability and national duty, with a collective responsibility and commitment to promoting stability, continuity of Mr. President’s reforms and inclusive national development.

According to the statement, the first-term governors believed that the reforms being implemented by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu were necessary to address years of fiscal, security, productivity and development challenges.

It added that the APC first-term executive governors of the 20 states resolved to support President’s second term bid, anchored on the conviction that Nigeria required courageous leaders like His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu in order to have policy continuity and stronger collaboration between the federal government and the state governments.

“Therefore, we declare our total support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the continuity of the renewed hope agenda beyond 2027,” the communique stated.

Because for the fact that the country also needed a development agenda that rewards productivity, enterprises, agriculture, innovation and hard work,” it added.

The governors further Condemned, in totality, the constant attacks of Nigerians in South Africa.

They also expressed their concerns on the different attacks and kidnapping of students, worshippers and other innocent citizens in the country.

While urging people in their respective states to remain calm, they promised to take bold steps in reducing banditry attacks, kidnappings and killings across the states.
