VC acknowledges Chancellor’s efforts in elevating ABU to new heights

The Vice-Chancellor, Ahmadu Bello University, Prof. Adamu Ahmed, has expressed sincere gratitude to the Chancellor of the institution for elevating the university to new heights.

This was conveyed in a statement by the Public Affairs Directorate, Office of the Vice-Chancellor, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria where it noted that His Majesty, Igwe Alfred Ugochukwu Achebe, CFR, Obi of Onitsha, has been the Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University since 2016.

Prof. Ahmed spoke on the Chancellor’s 85th birthday and 24th anniversary of his ascension to the throne as the 21st Obi of Onitsha.

He explained that the university stood as a testament to his influential fatherly role and leadership as a Chancellor.

Ahmed, who lauded Obi’s many years of service to humanity marked by peace and prosperity, also said the royal father was holding the position with unwavering dedication and commitment.

The Vice-Chancellor described Obi’s record over the years as exemplary, stressing that such distinguished effort had positively influenced a broad spectrum of individuals and groups nationally and internationally.

The Chancellor’s life, he emphasized, epitomized that of an icon whose dedication and pursuits were focused on advancing humanity.

“The outcomes of these endeavours are conspicuous and stand as a testament to His Majesty’s outstanding contributions,” according to the Vice-Chancellor.

Prof. Ahmed wished the Chancellor good health, wisdom, and many more years of distinguished service.
