My Withdrawal Rumour Misleading, I’m Still In The Race – Tumsah

One of Yobe State’s All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial aspirants, Kashim Musa Tumsah has declared that he is still committed to his ambition of contesting the govership position of the state.

Reacting to what he called rumours and misleading reports circulating in some quarters alleging that he has withdrawn from the Yobe State governorship race on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), he reiterated his commitment to his ambition.

According a statement by the Media Directorate, Kashim Musa Tumsah Governorship Campaign Organisation, “We wish to categorically state that the information is false, misleading and does not represent the true position of Kashim Musa Tumsah regarding the forthcoming APC gubernatorial primaries in Yobe State.”

For avoidance of doubt, Kashim Musa Tumsah remains a bona fide aspirant in the race and continues to pursue his aspiration with commitment, courage and faith in the democratic process, the statement said.

As consistently maintained, his participation in the contest is driven by the conviction that due process, fairness, justice and strict adherence to the Electoral Act 2026 and the APC guidelines for direct primaries must prevail at all times.

He remains resolute and determined to continue the struggle for what is right until justice is done. This position is not borne out of personal interest alone, but out of the collective desire to protect democratic values and internal party democracy within the APC in Yobe State.

Kashim Musa Tumsah therefore called on his supporters, political associates and well-wishers across the state to remain steadfast, peaceful, law-abiding and loyal to the APC as a great party destined for victory.

He assured them of his doggedness, consistency and commitment to seeing the process through in a responsible and democratic manner.

He also called on all relevant stakeholders, particularly the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), party officials and security agencies, to ensure justice, fairness, transparency and credibility during the forthcoming APC governorship primary election.

Kashim Musa Tumsah, the statement added, remains optimistic that with fairness and adherence to democratic principles, the APC in Yobe State will emerge stronger, united and better positioned for success in the 2027 general elections.
