Two Bodies Behind Sen Shehu Buba’s Governorship Bid

Two bodies of Men and Women involved in the struggle for Better Leadership, Governance Framework and Fortunes-changing in Bauchi State, have added their voice in support of the governorship aspiration of Senator Shehu Buba Umar.

According to the group, “after assessing the situations on the ground in terms of the numerous aspirants to the office of the Governor of Bauchi State come 2027 across party lines, we firmly believe that Senator Shehu’s performance so far in the Nigerian Senate, his educational background as a progressing Doctoral researcher, his young age, experience in national and local politics and above all, uncommon commitment to the development of Bauchi S)tate and its people, he is the best of the pack hence our endorsement”.

The body’s chairman of Tink-Tank for the Dream Bauchi Project, Prof. Musa Muhammad Kirfi and former PPS to Governor Bala Mohammed and Mahmood Maidoki Esq. Deputy Co-ordinator, Lawyers for the Cause of Bauchi, while addressing journalists in Bauchi recently said, “We supporting Shehu Buba’s aspiration for above indicated reasons, are confident that if there is any politician in Bauchi State that is capable of translating our adversity into advantage, Shehu Buba is the one”.

They assured that Buba’s candidacy will guarantee victory for the APC in Bauchi state with positive implications for “our consolidated appearance on scale,” adding that the electoral appeal of the masses which is necessary for victory in any election especially in a state like Bauchi, coupled with the fact that even card carrying members of other political parties have resolved to vote for Senator Shehu, considering wise decision of APC to field him for the office of Governor.

While welcoming the decision of Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state and the PDP to jettison their plan of joining the APC, the group said politically, Bauchi State needs a new break from the old and narrow arrangement because Bauchi deserves more than this reducing the political conversation to only APC, PDP, options is not in the best interest of the state.

The body expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the leadership of APC under Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda for listening to the concerns and standing for party members of Bauchi, who, from the word go, voiced opposition to Governor Bala Mohammed’s planned move to the party in the interest of peace and stability in the state that would guarantee 100 per cent votes for the party from state Assembly members to President Tinubu.

They also advised the leadership of the party to ensure that justice and fairness are employed to produce APC candidate for the 2027 general elections.
