Late Kebbi Speaker, Mohammed Zuru Buried

The remains of late Kebbi State Speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mohammed Usman Zuru has been buried on Thursday around 5:45pm amidst thousands of sympathisers who came from different parts of the state and Nigeria in general.
Our correspondent gathered that corpse arrived in Abuja from Egypt around 4:45pm Thursday and was conveyed to the late speaker’s hometown of Zuru in Zuru Local Government area of Kebbi State, accompanied by the former Chief Army Staff, General Ishaya Bamaiyi, Senator Muhammed Adamu Aliero, the senator representing Kebbi Central, Major General Muhammadu Magoro, member House of Representatives, representing Zuru/Danko Wasagu/Fakai constituency, Hon. Kabiru Tukura and Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, among others.
The corpse was received by the Governor of the state, Nasir Idris (Kauran Gwandu), alongside top government officials at the Zuru Airstrip.
The funeral prayer was performed around 6:00 pm at his residence in GRA Zuru around 6:30 pm before taken to Zango Central cemetery in Zuru were he was buried according to Islamic rites.
In his condolence message shortly, Governor Nasir Idris said he missed a very good companion who always stood on his wishes and aspirations towards the development of Kebbi State.
“He always offered useful advice to me on how to move Kebbi State forward without any bias or ill will,” Idris noted.
During his time as speaker, he made sure there was actual peace between the legislative and the executive arms of government,” he added.
Governor Idris further lamented that the people of Zuru, Kebbi and Nigeria as a whole have lost peace lover who always wanted to see people live in peace and unity.
Others who offered their condolences include General Ishaya Bamaiyi, Senator Muhammed Adamu Aliero, Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, members of the Nigeria Speakers Forum, Kebbi State House of Assembly members, Commissioners and heads of commissions, boards and parastatals who described late Mohammad Zuru as humble person and dedicated to his duties.
They noted that during his time as Speaker, Kebbi State House of Assembly became one of the most peaceful, commanding harmonious relationship between the legislative and executive arms.
They prayed Allah to forgive him and grant him Aljannat Firdausi.
