Kebbi: Boy, 13, Found Dead In A Pond

The corpse of an unidentified boy, 13, was found in a pond at Takalau area of Birnin Kebbi metropolis under Birnin Kebbi Local Government area of Kebbi State.

Our Correspondent gathered that the boy might have either died mysteriously in the hands of hired killers or ritualists who, after killing him, decided to dump his corpse in the pond.

However, an eyewitness, Abba Attahiru Kofar Dindi confirmed that the boy left his home in Gwadangaji area three days ago without the knowledge of his parents to Takalau area where he entered the pond and got immersed.

Kofar Dindi also added later that the dead body was found floating on top on the pond on Thursday evening and the incident was reported to the Village Head of Takalau area where the search of his parents started in earnest.

“His parents from Gwadangaji area in Birnin Kebbi, upon receiving the information, came to the Village Head of Takalau and evacuated the corpse for funeral arrangements,” the eyewitness said.

Our Correspondent also gathered that the boy was buried on Friday according to Islamic rites at Gwadangaji cemetery.
