FUTIA Opens Bid For 2025 TETFund Intervention Support

Federal University of Technology, Ikot Abasi (FUTIA) in Akwa Ibom State, on Monday, opened the technical bid for year 2026 TETFund Intervention for ICT support.

The bid opening exercise, which took place at the Senate Chamber of the University, covered two categories: Lot G1 (Supply and Installation of Hardware Equipment, Licensing and Software Renewal) and Lot C1 (Building Consultancy Services). Both categories were opened during the same session.

The Centre for Human Rights and Accountability Network (CHRAN) commended the transparent conduct of the Technical Bid Opening for the Year 2025 TETFund Intervention for ICT Support held at the Federal University of Technology Ikot Abasi.

CHRAN was represented at the event by its Secretary of Research and Documentation, Etimbuk Ekpenyong, who attended as an independent observer. The exercise was conducted under the supervision of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Leo Daniel, represented by Prof. Isaac Ayandele.

Speaking after the exercise, Ekpenyong noted that the process met acceptable standards of transparency and fairness. “From my observation, the process was satisfactorily transparent.

Each bidder, Ekpenyong was given the opportunity to inspect and confirm their submitted documents before the envelopes were opened in the full view of all present. This procedure strengthens confidence in the integrity of the process,” he stated.

He further observed that all bidders were treated equally, and the process was conducted in an orderly and accountable manner, with clear adherence to due process.

CHRAN therefore encourages other public institutions to emulate this level of transparency and procedural integrity in the conduct of procurement processes, especially those involving public funds such as TETFund interventions.

The Center reiterates its commitment to promoting accountability, transparency, and good governance in public institutions across Nigeria.
