Nigeria’s Pillar of Sports Mourns Former Super Eagles Star, Henry Nwosu

Nigeria’s Pillar of Sports, Chief Donatus Agu-Ejidike (JP), has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of former Super Eagles striker, Henry Nwosu (MON), describing the late football icon as one of the brightest stars to ever wear Nigeria’s green and white jersey.

In a condolence message issued on Saturday, Chief Agu-Ejidike noted that Nwosu’s emergence into the national team at a very young age symbolized courage, talent and dedication to the beautiful game.

According to him, the late forward distinguished himself during his time with the national team, earning the admiration of fans and colleagues through his commitment, skill, and patriotic service to Nigerian football.

The Nigeria’s Pillar of Sports lamented that the protracted illness which the former Super Eagles player battled for years ultimately silenced a voice that once thrilled millions on the football field, adding that Nwosu’s contributions to Nigerian football history remain indelible and will continue to inspire young players who dream of representing the nation at the highest level.

Chief Agu-Ejidike, therefore, extended his heartfelt condolences to the immediate family of the late Henry Nwosu, his former teammates, colleagues in the football community, and the entire Nigerian football fraternity, praying that God grants them the strength to bear the irreparable loss.

He further urged the sports community to remember the late football legend not with despair but with gratitude for the memorable moments he gave the nation, adding that his legacy will forever remain part of the rich heritage of Nigerian football.
