Governor Leads Tree Planting Exercise To Mark Bauchi @50

Governor Bala Mohammed, on Tuesday, led a symbolic tree-planting exercise at the Eagle Sino Park in Bauchi, where 50 trees were planted to commemorate the 50 years of Bauchi State.

Speaking during the exercise, Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed said the initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly efforts aimed at combating climate change and promoting a healthier, more sustainable environment, noting that beyond its environmental benefits, the exercise serves as a reminder of collective responsibility to protect the ecosystem for future generations.

He described the Golden Jubilee as a period of reflection, calling on citizens to come together with renewed commitment to move Bauchi State forward in unity, peace and sustainable development.

The Governor further announced the renaming of Eagle Sino Park to “Bauchi Golden Jubilee Park,” adding that the state government plans to establish more parks across Bauchi with similar environmental and social objectives.

While highlighting his development strides, Governor Mohammed explained that the state has recorded tremendous progress in agriculture, education, health, infrastructure, water supply and security.

He stressed that sustained peace and collaboration with security agencies remain central to development.

The Governor unfolded that recent investment efforts are yielding results, as the 2025 Bauchi State Economic and Investment Summit generated over 5.2 billion dollars in investment commitment, alongside progress in cement production, mining and oil exploration in Kolmani.

The event ended with the ceremonial planting of the trees, each named after past and present leaders of Bauchi State, symbolizing continuity, legacy and shared responsibility in building a greener and more prosperous future for the state.
