Delayed Postings Worry 60 CBN-Employed Nigerians, Send SOS To Tinubu

After waiting for three years in limbo, a team of 60 innocent Nigerians across the country, offered employment at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), have collectively expressed worries over delayed postings and onboarding into various positions since August 28, 2023.

According to the concerned employees, the CBN authorities issued them appointment letters, after presenting their acceptance letters, they were instructed to resign from their previous places of work, as part of the documentation requirements.

“We all tendered resignation letters to our former employers at that time to enable us comply and proceed with the CBN process,” one of the affected employees, Emmanuel Linus Dabo, who spoke on behalf of the rest, told newsmen during a press conference at Correspondent Chapel Hall in Bauçhi on Monday.

Mr. Linus Dabo, informed that the application process started in April 2023 and submitted to the CBN headquarters and mails from the Human Resources Department for interview and aptitude test were dispatched.

He said there was a series of emails from the Human Resources office to forward their credentials for the online documentation, including their acknowledged resignation letters from their previous employers.

The spokesman explained that after a long period of waiting without communication from the apex bank, after becoming jobless, they were hopeful of being deployed to their various offices while believing that, the lack of communication could be due to the change of administration at the CBN at that time which might have affected the process.

The awaiting-to-be-posted staff presented to journalists, their appointment letters allegedly issued by the Human Resources Department, an offer of ‘Provisional Appointment’ for a probation period of one year, after which a satisfactory report would be given before the confirmation of appointment was captured.

The group, while presenting copies of acknowledged letters of reminder addressed to the new CBN Governor, written in September 2023, November 2024 and January 2025, but with no response from the management, urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria and other influential Nigerians to come to their rescue, considering the present economic situation, that disorganized them and their families for three years now.
