Kebbi NURTW, National Leadership Support Tinubu, Idris

Ahead 2027 elections, the national leadership and Kebbi State branch of the Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) have declared their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor of Kebbi State, Nasir Idris in their bids to re-contest in 2027.

Both the National President and the Chairman Kebbi State of NURTW made their declaration on Monday at the occasion of solidarity held at the Presidential Lodge in Birnin Kebbi.

Speaking during the occasion, the NURTW President, Comrade Najib Usman Yasin said the union at the national level decided to support President Tinubu and Governor Nasir Idris come 2027 due to their transformational projects they executed in the country and Kebbi State in particular.

He added: “these two leaders have done well to the people in the country and Kebbi State which improve their socio-economic development.”

The Renewed Hope Agenda initiated by President Tinubu has impacted the livelihood of citizens of the country,” Yasin added.

According to the National President, former late President Muhammadu Buhari was elected in 2015 and sought for re-election in 2019 and won, equally, the Union and other Nigerians would vote Tinubu in 2027.

He added that Nigerians would vote Tinubu so as to continue with the developmental projects he started.

Chairman, NURTW, Kebbi State, Alhaji Garba Danmalam said they will continue supporting Governor Nasir Idris towards 2027 because of the reconstruction of the Central Motor Park and the assistance to Union members with vehicles to enhance their transport services in the state.

Danmalam added that the governor has constructed many accessible roads which makes easy, transportation to all part of the state.

“We particularly appreciate the award of contract of Koko – Mahuta – Dabai road which was abandoned by the contractors assigned by the federal government which construction reached an advanced stage,” Danmalam said.

He assured that NURTW members in the state that they are only waiting for the time, for them to come out enmass to vote for Tinubu and Idris in 2027.

Responding, Governor Nasir Idris commended the Unions for their continued support of his administration and by all trade unions in the state .

The governor said Comrade Najib Yasin is his friend and colleague in Unionism ever before he became the Governor of Kebbi State in 2023

Governor Idris further disclosed that more accessible road projects will be awarded in 2026 for the benefit of transport workers.
