Kebbi APC Receives 1,500 PDP Defectors

The chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi State, Alhaji Muhammed Kana Zuru has received about 1,500 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members who defected to APC from Danko/Wasagu Local Government area of the state.

Among the decamped include former aspirant of PDP to the state assembly from Danko/Wasagu Local Government, Lawali Arzika Ribah, a singer, Hajiya Binta and Alhaji Basiru from Birnin Kebbi.

They Were received in a ceremony held at the sate APC secretariat in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday.

Speaking on behalf of the decampees, Alhaji Arzika Ribah informed the gathering that they left PDP and join APC due to the laudable achievements recorded by the Kaura-led administration within two years in office.

He cited example of the reawarding of Koko- Mahuta-Dabai road which was abandoned by the contractors assigned by the federal government, in addition to the developmental projects executed within the state capital, Birnin Kebbi.

He added that the administration of Governor Nasir Idris (Kauran Gwandu) APC proved the only party to join without experiencing any differences and discrimination.

He noted that their defection to APC has come to stay and promised to contribute their quota towards successes come 2027 elections.

The chairman APC, Alhaji Muhammed Kana Zuru, while accepting them as members, assured that they would be carried along in all activities of the party at all times.

“From now, you have become members of APC in the state and you will be given consideration at all times where necessary,” Kana said.

Kana Zuru further advised the defectors to stand faithful with the manifestos of the APC as family members.
