ICRC Holds Emergency Response Workshop For Journalists In Yobe

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has on Tuesday, launched a 3-day workshop for journalists in Yobe State on how to provide emergency response to communities when the need arises.
During the launch of the workshop, the Communications Officer of the ICRC Yobe, Mr. Usman Kundili, said that they organized the workshop with the aim of training journalists on emergency response.
The ICRC will also educate journalists on how to protect themselves while working in difficult locations.

He added that the international organization’s original purpose was to provide assistance to communities that have fallen into difficult situations, especially in the event of disaster, whether it is war or something else.
“Therefore, this Red Cross organization was not, as misconceived by some, founded with a religious purpose, this is not true at all,” Usman reiterated.
