Body Honours Govs, Prof Jega, Others In Kebbi

The Arewa Broadcast Media Practitioners Forum (ABMPF) has honoured 50 distinguished personalities for their outstanding contributions to the development of the nation.
They were presented with awards during a 3-day Security Forum of ABMPF held at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi.
Speaking during the presentation of the awards, ABMPF Chairman, Board of Trustees, Alhaji Abdullahi Yelwa (Ajiyan Yauri) revealed the awardees to include Governors of Kebbi, Nasir Idris, Sokoto, Ahmed Alyu, Nasarawa, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, Kaduna, Uba Sani, Zamfara, Dauda Dare Lawal, Niger, Abdullahi Bago and former Chairman Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Attahiru Jega. They also include 10 ace broadcasters and 15 other personalities.
According to Yelwa, the awardees were selected based on merit and from different sections of broadcast media as well as those from outside the media profession.
He commended Governor Nasir Idris for hosting the Forum which he noted will contribute immensely in curbing insecurity in Kebbi and other states in the northwest zone.
Yelwa added that the Forum discussed and deliberated on vital issues regarding the improvement of security in Kebbi and beyond.
He said that ABMPF is looking for possible ways to expand the Forum to grassroots level for the benefit of wider target audience.
Over 100 broadcast practitioners drawn from different broadcast media outfits across the northern Nigeria and Abuja, were in attendabce.
The Forum also inspected various projects executed within two years by the Kaura-led administration in Kebbi State.
Receiving the award, Governor Nasir Idris thanked the organisers of the Forum and assured them of his continued support.
