Gov Buni Presents N515b 2026 Budget To Assembly

Yobe State Governor, (Dr) Mai Mala Buni has presented an appropriation of N515,583,000,000 (Five Hundred and Fifteen Billion, Five Hundred and Eighty-Three Million Naira) for the 2026 fiscal year to the state House of Assembly.

Tagged “BUDGET OF ECONOMIC GROWTH AND INFRASTRUCTURAL TRANSFORMATION” is to service capital, recurrent, overhead and personnel costs.  

This is against the N320,811,000,000 (Three-Hundred and Twenty Billion, Eight-Hundred and Eleven Million Naira) of the outgoing year.

The budget provides the sum of N192,128,000,000 (One Hundred and Ninety-Two Billion, One Hundred and Twenty-Eight Million Naira) representing 37.3% to the recurrent expenditure.

The sum of N323,455,000,000 (Three Hundred and Twenty Three Billion, Four Hundred and Fifty-Five Million Naira) representing 62.7% of the budget is earmarked for capital expenditure.

The Governor listed healthcare delivery, education, agriculture and infrastructure development including road construction, electricity, water supply and others among key areas that received government attention in the outgoing year.

Governor Buni said government would establish a Dialysis Center in Gashua town to provide succour to kidney patients.  “government would also construct a new General Hospital in Potiskum to decongest the Specialist Hospital” in 2026.
