Akpan, Eniang, others honoured at 5th Beatrice Ita Awards Ceremony

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Cross River State Council has conferred the “Meritorious Veteran Award Of Excellence In The Media Industry” on the Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of Pillar Today Newspaper, Anietie Akpan. The conferment was at the 5th Beatrice Ita Investigative Journalism Award ceremony in recognition of his excellent contributions to the journalism profession in Nigeria and Cross River in particular.

Also awarded were Mr. & Mrs Charles Eniang, Publisher & General Editor, Glimmer Newspaper who bagged the Veteran/Evergreen Couple award.

Also, former Press Secretary to former Governor Liyel Imoke, Mr. Patrick Ugbe MD/CEO, Hit FM, Calabar; Comrade Emma Akpong, Former General Manager, Cross River State Newspaper Corporation & Permanent Secretary (Rtd); as well as Comrade Vitalis Igboejelam Ugoh, Editor, Median Newspaper who received the Meritorious Veteran Award of Excellence in the Media Industry.

The awards were bestowed on them on Saturday, 20th September, 2025, at Hogis Royale Hotels, Calabar.
