Kebbi LG Councils Chairmen Laud Gov Idris For Nutrition Workshop

Chairmen of the 21 Local Government Areas of Kebbi State have applauded the sponsorship of Capacity Building Workshop on the Improvement of Nutrition courtesy of Governor Nasir Idris, through the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning in collaboration with UNICEF.

Chairman of the All Chairmen of the Local Government Areas of the state (ACLGOS), Alhaji Dahiru Nayaya Ambursa made this commendation while speaking with journalists on Saturday in Birnin Kebbi.

“The 2-day Workshop held in Sokoto, organised by the state Ministry of Budget and Economic planning in Collaboration with UNICEF and sponsored by Governor Idris, will yield positive results in the areas of malnutrition menace in Kebbi State,” Ambursa said.

He added that “the workshop also came at the right time when the American donor agency on nutrition stopped funding, enabling Governor Idris to provide resources to continue with the programme with a view to helping children against malnutrition.”

According to Ambursa, facilitators at the workshop also enlightened participants with recommendations on utilisation of seedlings (maize and sorghum) to give better vitamins to children.

He assured that the participants will come up with action plans to improve nutrition and at the same time, curb malnutrition.

Chairmen of all the 21 Local Government Areas in the state, officials of the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning and UNICEF attended the workshop.
