The Commissioner of Police, Akwa Ibom State Command, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, has expressed gratitude to the State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, for increasing the allowances of police personnel and other security officers serving at the Government House with over 200%.
CP Azare’s mark of appreciation was contained in a press statement he signed on Monday, 26th October, 2026 and made available to journalists in Uyo, on behalf of the beneficiaries.
The Commissioner described the Governor’s gesture as a generous and commendable act of leadership.
He said the improved allowances are a welcome recognition of the personnels’ dedication and responsibilities, and a meaningful step towards providing welfare commensurate with their services.
CP Azare praised Pastor Umo Eno for recognising the sacrifices of security personnel and responding to their welfare needs, pointing out that such thoughtful leadership strengthens morale and encourages even greater commitment, loyalty and professionalism.
The Commissioner said the beneficiaries are sincerely grateful to the Governor for this support. He assured him that they would continue to justify the confidence reposed in them through disciplined, vigilant and professional service.
He prayed for God’s continued guidance, wisdom and strength for the Governor as he leads the state.
It would be recalled that Governor Eno, while announcing government’s gesture to the security personnel, said the gesture is to encourage the officers to re-dedicate themselves to their duties.
