The Kebbi State Government has dismissed recent report by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in which it purportedly classified the state as one of the Poorest.
State Commissioner for Information and Culture, Yakubu Ahmed Birnin Kebbi made the dismissal on Sunday during a press conference held at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi.
According to the Commissioner, the report of the UNDP is an old version which covered the period from 2018 during the three years of Former President Muhammadu Buhari which, allegedly, former Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami revised and made it public in order to tarnish the image of the present administration.
He called on the opposition candidates to concentrate on what would bring development in Kebbi but, not condemnation or tarnishing the image of someone who is doing his best to his state.
Birnin Kebbi further appealed to people of Kebbi state not to carry out by the overzealous candidates who are hunting for cheap votes in the forthcoming general elections.
The Commissioner, however, noted that Governor Nasir Idris has moved Kebbi State to a greater heights within his three years administration which rescued a very bad economic situation, dislocation and widespread poverty, accentuated by the oppositions and their cohorts.
