Dangote Refinery Cuts Diesel Price To N1,700, Below Imported AGO
According to reports by DAILY POST on October 7, 2026, Dangote Refinery has reduced the price of Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), commonly known as diesel, from N1,780 to N1,700 per litre.
The refinery disclosed the new price in a price template sent to its customers, stating that the new diesel price would take effect from Wednesday.
The latest adjustment represents a reduction of N80 per litre in the refinery’s gantry price. It also places Dangote’s diesel below the current cost of imported AGO.
Checks by DAILY POST on the import landing cost published by the Major Energies Marketers Association of Nigeria (MEMAN) showed that imported diesel was landing at between N1,775 and N1,785 per litre as of October 5, 2026.
Based on the figures, diesel from Dangote Refinery is now between N75 and N85 per litre cheaper than imported AGO.
The reduction comes amid changes in international crude oil prices. At the time of reporting, West Texas Intermediate crude was trading at $89 per barrel, while Brent crude stood at $101 per barrel.
