60 Priority Projects Underway In Akwa Ibom – Gov Eno

No fewer than 60 projects classified as “Priority Projects” are underway in Akwa Ibom State. These projects, though not listed, will be executed in addition to over 1,300 kilometres of roads either completed or currently spread across the state.

Governor of the state, Pastor Umo Eno announced this on Saturday, during the Akwa Ibom State Government House Monthly Prayer Service, themed “Limitless Possibilities With God,” drawn from Matthew 19:26.

Pastor Eno called on men of God to, not only pray but also visit project sites to intercede for their timely and successful completion.

The Governor also sought prayers for the full realisation of the state’s International Airport status, explaining that several critical benchmarks must be met to enable Akwa Ibom capture a significant share of the aviation market within the Gulf of Guinea.

On civic engagement, he charged political and community leaders to return to their local government areas to mobilise eligible citizens for voter and party registration into the All Progressives Congress (APC), while appealing to Pastors to enlighten their congregations on the importance of fulfilling this vital civic responsibility.

The Governor cautioned citizens to exercise restraint in their utterances, particularly against making disparaging comments about government, stressing that unity, responsible engagement and constructive dialogue remain essential for collective progress.

Emphasising the importance of spiritual support, Governor Eno announced a special prayer night scheduled for Friday, January 30, 2026, inviting prayer warriors to intercede more fervently for the state.

The governor commended past leaders of the state, acknowledging that every administration made its mark and contributed to Akwa Ibom’s development.

He also highlighted the importance of the ongoing ministerial briefings, describing them as a vital stock-taking exercise aimed at repositioning the administration for higher performance. He praised ministries and departments for their achievements so far and urged them to do even more in service to the people.

Governor Eno expressed appreciation to all who attended the first prayer service of the year, describing it as both a thanksgiving for the new year and a reaffirmation of collective faith in God’s guidance for Akwa Ibom State.

He particularly commended men who support their wives and encourage women to excel in their chosen careers and endeavours, noting that such support strengthens families and society.

The exhortation was delivered by the Chairman of the Akwa Ibom State Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rev. Dr. Christian Nyong, who spoke on the Limitless Possibilities of God’s intervention in the affairs of the state and its people, declaring that both the church and the entire state remain united behind the administration of Governor Umo Eno and the progress recorded so far.

In attendance at the prayer service were the Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Senator (Dr.) Akon Eyakenyi; the Coordinator, Office of the First Lady, Lady Helen Obareki; the Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Udeme Otong; top government officials, senior clergymen and other distinguished guests.
