2027: APC Has No Automatic Tickets For Unpopular Candidates In Kebbi – Gov Idris

Ahead of 2027 general elections, Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris has said that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has no ticket guarantee for candidates who are unpopular or do not command majority of supporters within his/her constituency.

Idris made this clarification on Saturday when he received, in audience, the Chairman of APC Birnin Kebbi Local Government area at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi.

He made it clear that if it happened in the previous years, in 2027 it would not reoccur. Candidates must be popular and most importantly, have majority supporters in their constituencies.

“We cannot continue to give tickets when the elections come, to unpopular candidates or to those who are not useful to their constituents,” Governor Idris reiterated.

He advised politicians to wake up and initiate a synergy that will bring success of APC in the 2027 elections.

He noted that APC remained the only party in the country to join, due to the unwavering commitment of its leaders, especially President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other governors.

That is why you see governors and National Assembly members, among others, defect to APC from their parties,” he added.

The governor, however, advised the party leadership in the area to concentrate on the current e-Membership of the party as well as Continuous Voter Registrations (CVR) conducted by both state party and INEC.

Earlier, the chairman of APC, Birnin Kebbi Local Government, Sani Bello has informed the governor that they were in the Government House to express their unalloyed support for his second term bid.
